DAI Andiamo

I love these restaurants which appears out of nowhere and disappear just days or weeks later. These place are magic, probably because you even more enjoy that place when knowing, that this is definitely the first and last time you will have dinner here.

Hearing about a new pop up Thai street food restaurant I wanted to go immediately. The Soi Thai restaurant is situated just above the busy Bellevue square in the middle of Zurich center. But as soon as arriving there you feel like being on holiday.

People sitting outside on the grass, a cold Chang beer in their hand and waiting for the next free table. Even time doesn’t seem to matter here anymore. Everyone is waiting for more than one hour to get one of that rare tables but feeling completely relaxed by doing so. Definitely holiday mood 🙂

Even from outside you can smell that wonderful flavour of different spices, giving you the feeling of being far far away…and your anticipation is rising with every new whiff from inside.

Once sitting on one of that typical plastic chairs you can choose from a small menu. There is Papaya salad, chili relish with different vegetables, duck filet salad or „Curry of the day“. There is even some more but when I read the word curry I don`t need to think about anything else. So a green curry with some meat an vegetables it is for me.

And there ist just enough time to pick up some drinks at the bar before the curry already arrives together with some rice and a small bowl of roasted and flaovoured nuts. The curry is perfect having the perfect amount of spiciness and at this point at the latest you very feel like being in Thailand.
